The Book...Making the Connections: How to Put Biblical Worldview Integration Into Practice

While leaders in Christian education may universally share a belief in the necessity of biblical worldview integration in the classroom, "how to" books on the topic are rare. This book is intended to help fill that void. Although it is written primarily with schoolteachers in mind, Making the Connections is also written for parents and pastors, because they are teachers, too. Furthermore, it is vital for parents, pastors and teachers to all be on the same team when it comes to forming the biblical worldview in the minds of young people. Biblical worldview integration does not necessarily happen just because a teacher is a Christian. Being a Christian is the necessary starting point, but that is no guarantee that biblical worldview integration will take place in the classroom. For some Christian teachers, it seems to happen more naturally than with others. Yet it would be a mistake to say that teachers who teach integratively are "born, not made." This book is written with the conviction that biblical worldview integration is a skill that can be learned--and passed on to others. The Making the Connections book describes one approach to the process of biblical worldview integration. It is not the only approach, but it is an approach. The Biblical Worldview Integration Planner presented in this book has been designed for use by busy teachers. In fact, busy teachers helped design it.
